Green Card Youth Voices: Immigration Stories from an ATLANTA High School

On October 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 27th of 2017, the Green Card Voices team traveled to Atlanta to meet with high school students, teachers, principals. We also met with partner organizations: Kennesaw State University (KSU)Latin American Association and members of the Welcoming America. The purpose was to discuss a new book project involving 30 immigrant and refugee students attending the majority immigrant high schools.

Based on a successful model used in Minneapolis, St. Paul and Fargo, the Green Card Youth Voices book series is a vehicle to generate awareness about the immigrant experience. This book includes links to the students’ first-person video narrative, a study guide, and glossary to help teachers use the book as an educational resource when teaching about immigration.
