GLOSSARY
We’ve published two books featuring high schools from Minnesota: Immigration Stories from St. Paul and Minneapolis High Schools. Although the cities are geographically close, they’re demographically very different, and we knew it was important to create a book for each city’s unique population. Minneapolis’ immigrant population is predominantly Oromo, Somali and Ethiopian as opposed to the predominantly Asian population of St. Paul (especially Hmong and Karen).
The forward is written by renowned author, Kao Kalia Yang, of The Latehomecomer: A Hmong Family Memoir.
