On October 2nd, 3rd, 4th and 27th of 2017, the Green Card Voices team traveled to Atlanta to meet with high school students, teachers, principals. We also met with partner organizations: Kennesaw State University (KSU), Latin American Association and members of the Welcoming America. The purpose was to discuss a new book project involving 30 immigrant and refugee students attending the majority immigrant high schools.
Based on a successful model used in Minneapolis, St. Paul and Fargo, the Green Card Youth Voices book series is a vehicle to generate awareness about the immigrant experience. This book includes links to the students’ first-person video narrative, a study guide, and glossary to help teachers use the book as an educational resource when teaching about immigration.
