Green Card Voices is excited about our upcoming 11th Annual Gala, Becoming Neighbors. We invite your organization to join us in this celebration of resilient refugee and immigrant storytellers as a formal sponsor. 

As you know, some of our newest immigrant neighbors fled Afghanistan when their lives were radically disrupted after American troops pulled out of Afghanistan in August 2021, and it was important for us to bring their stories forward. We interviewed 30 newly arrived youth from Afghanistan who are attending three different high schools in the Twin Cities about their journey and experiences. These stories are heroic, horrific, and humbling, and this timely and impactful book, My City Was a Sparkling Jewel: Voices of Newcomer Youth from Afghanistan, will be celebrated and discussed at the Gala.

For ten years, Green Card Voices has created ways for our diverse community to learn about each other through our first-person narrative videos and books. We build empathy and engage and learn from one another using our Story Stitch card game and organize public exhibits nationwide, fostering deep and powerful connections between immigrants and their American-born neighbors. This essential work is only made possible through the financial investment of like-minded companies, organizations, and individuals—like you! We invite you to join us in uplifting immigrant and refugee voices by sponsoring and celebrating with us at Becoming Neighbors on May 18, held at the International Institute of Minnesota in St. Paul.
